Colette Guéden

Mask

Colette Guéden was most significant not as an artist, but as a gallerist, directing the influential shop Primavera in the Printemps Department Store beginning in 1938. She also developed her own designs, however, in a fantastical style and in a range of mediums including turned wood, horn, glass, metal, and mother of pearl. This mask was made to her design in Vallauris by the craftsman Pol Chambost.
