Object & Thing presents object-based work existing at the intersection between art and design. Object & Thing began as a re-imagined art and design fair and has since evolved into an itinerant, collaborative exhibition program focused on site-specific and intimate exhibitions of objects and artworks, within iconic 20th century artists’ and architects’ homes including: Robert Dash (Sagaponack, NY), Jack Lenor Larsen (East Hampton, NY), Gerald Luss (Ossining, NY), Eliot Noyes (New Canaan, CT) and James Rose (Ridgewood, NJ). Since 2022, Object & Thing has represented artists, leading to a program of solo exhibitions that have taken place in Venice, Italy and New York City. In summer 2026, Object & Thing opened a long-term gallery space in New Preston, Connecticut.

Abby Bangser
Founder and Creative Director
Abby Bangser is the founder and creative director of Object & Thing. Bangser is a former Artistic Director of Frieze Art Fairs and was the founding head of the Americas Foundation of the Serpentine Galleries. She has additionally worked for nonprofit arts institutions in both New York City and Los Angeles including Dia Art Foundation, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Bangser is currently curating for Giorgio Armani at the NOMAD art and design fair (St. Moritz and Water Mill, New York) and a second edition of the gallery section Reflections at Frieze Masters in London. She serves on the Advisory Council of The Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut and the Advisory Board of the Spector Craft Prize.
