◄ Overview
Mineo Mizuno
Untitled
Born in Gifu Prefecture in Japan, the ceramist Mineo Mizuno came to California in the 1960s to pursue his art studies. By 1980, he had perfected a tight style with connections to Pop Art, and to the era’s graphic design. Somewhat as in the later works of British painter Michael Craig Martin, he elevates everyday objects (a simple construction screw, hot peppers) through extreme definition of contour and color.
