Adam Silverman

Untitled

For Adam Silverman, every pot is its own event – a series of events, in fact, as they are typically achieved over the course of several firings. As perhaps befits a ceramist based in Los Angeles, he often deploys high-chroma Pop colors, which serves as canvases for an active stratigraphy of gestures and marks. Silverman trained originally as an architect, and despite the fluidity of his approach – sometimes edging up to the point of chaotic collapse – his work always possesses a rigorous underlying structure.
