Patinated brass & wenge chair

Founded in 2017 by Aaron Aujla and Benjamin Bloomstein, Green River Project is a research-driven furniture producer based in New York City. In a short time they have been remarkably prolific, exploring a wide range of sustainably sourced materials and forms with echoes of modern masters like Frank Lloyd Wright and Gerrit Rietveld. This austere chair is made principally from planks of wenge, an extremely hard and dense African wood, held in a rectilinear metal framework; the timber’s recalcitrant texture is evident from the saw marks left on the surface.
