◄ Overview
Aneta Regel
Green Tree
Aneta Regal, who hails from Poland but was trained and works in London, has developed a remarkable geological idiom. Her sculptures are so skillful that look like they were not made by human hands, but born deep in the earth’s crust (and in fact, they do incorporate a diversity of crushed mineral inclusions, such as volcanic rock, basalt, granite, and feldspars). Any possibility of essentialism, however, is relieved by Regal’s edgy palette, which leans toward high-keyed, artificial hues.
