◄ Overview
Morten Løbner Espersen
Gold Moon
This mesmerizing pot marks a departure for the Danish potter Morten Løbner Espersen. Though it is part of an ongoing series of “moon jars” (made in emulation of the iconic Korean pots of that typology), it lacks the richly complex polychrome glazing that he usually applies to his work. Instead the surface is covered with an all-over sheath of gold luster, rendering it transcendent; it seems to glow with inner fire.
