◄ Overview
Evan Holloway
#164
Does the globally-connected Los Angeles art scene still retain a distinctive West Coast sensibility? If so, then Evan Holloway is at its heart. His relaxed, chromatically adventurous works combine found and fabricated elements in a manner that suggests the city’s wide-open, sun-splashed streetscape. This particular work, which is both sculpture and incense holder, is composed of two contrasting uprights, one striped like a beach costume, the other punctuated with findings including used batteries.
