◄ Overview
Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan
Is this what brings things into focus (Vase 4)
Joanne Tatham and Tom O’Sullivan began working in collaboration while undertaking the MFA program at Glasgow School of Art; their collaborative work was first exhibited at Transmission Gallery, Glasgow, in 1995. Over the span of their collaborative practice they have created a wide range of prop-like sculptures (many of which are used in performance) and installations, most recently in a colorful style somewhat reminiscent of 1980s postmodernism. The characterful vocabulary of motifs in the vase seen here relates to a major installation titled 'Is this what brings things into focus,' which was shown at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2017.
