Bench with billboard (A TOUCH OF BLOSSOM)

Marc Hundley is primarily known for graphic works that masquerade as posters, flyers, or other ephemera, featuring oblique pairings of text and image. In 2017, he debuted his first collection of furniture, initially lightly built with salvaged wood; and also recreated his own Brooklyn apartment in a booth at Frieze New York. “I wanted it to be an antidote to the fair,” he says. “Comfortable.” As he has continued to make furniture, the forms have become more assertive in their proportions, prompting thoughts of seating at a train station or museum gallery - perhaps a way to bridge the gap between art and life.
